The way I changed as a reader was by me reading more. I used to never read at home and only at school, but now I love reading, I read all the time. My Favorite unit this year was historical fiction. It is my favorite because I love the way the authors use the description and dialogue and they make amazing stories to read. The skill I'm going to bring to 5th grade is fast reading and understanding really hard books. Why? Because to me I think those skills are important to have.

Reading ids my favorite subject in all the subjects. I have really have grown as a reader because I went from level O to level R. I have learned how to identify small details in the book that can give a whole new idea of the book. My favorite reading unit from this year is the Historical Fiction unit. I liked that unit because in the book I could get a lot of information in history that i needed to discuss in the groups. One skill I can bring to fifth grade is being a slow reader. By reading slow you can understand things from the book. I really think that I will be great in fifth grade thanks to Ms. Servidio.

something that i'm going to bring to fifth grade is that those cool was to find the main idea of a story. Also what that tells me as a reader. Because if you just know that main idea it is going to give you a hint in what the story is all about. Something else that I want to bring with me to fifth grade is those signpost like again & again moment, ah moment because those helped me figure out what was happening in the story and too the characters. Is the way to find the feeling or traits of a character. That will help yo with what you think about your character and the way the he/she acts. Finally in the word steal because not only does it help me in writing but in reading too because it reminds me to think about the thought and the way it acts with other people and a lot of other things.

I have changed as a reader by using different ways to figure out tricky words. One way is to skip that word and read through to see if I can figure it out from what it says. Another way is to sound out the word to hear if there are any small words in it to help me figure it out. My favorite reading unit this year was historical fiction because we got to do reader's theater after we read the book. Some skills I will bring to 5th grade is to read fluently and make sure I understand the book.

From the beginning of the year to now I changed as a reader. In the beginning of the year I was doing small jots, and not expanding my thinking. But now I am expanding my thinking using such words like I thinks this or I know this. My favorite reading unit is the Historical Fiction. I liked this because it was fun reading about history in a different way. Also we got to act it out. Some reading skills that I learned that I will be using in 5th grade is to expand my thinking, infer about my characters, finding out a word without asking what it means and finally using STEAL for finding evidence.

I have grown and changed because I went up a few levels in reading and I learned how to use my knowledge about the book to infer. My favorite reading unit was historical fiction, because the historical books were about real times that were important in life, like wars, which were fun to read, and also we were in book clubs, so in made it even more fun to tell our peers about what we have read today. Finally, I will bring my skills to fifth grade because I will need them to do good in fifth grade reading.

I think I grew as a reader because now I have more stamina to read more books. Also I read books more carefully to find the tiny little, but important details. My favorite reading chapter was definitely non fiction because I used to hate non fiction,I found it boring I couldn’t find anything to read but then when we chose our topic as mine of dogs, I really loved to read about the fabulous creatures and it was so fun. Lastly my favorite strategy I will definitely be taking to fifth grade is visualization because I can feel like I am in the story with the characters watching what is happening in the story. I can be in Tennessee but in real life I am on my bean bag in my room. Books are like teleporters.

In reading this year, I have improved a lot. In the beginning of the year, I had trouble understanding what I was reading. Each night, I read out loud to myself to help me understand. By the end of school, reading became much easier because I could comprehend each text that I read completely. My favorite unit of reading was non fiction. At the beginning of the unit, I was not so thrilled on reading about non fiction. When I started reading about Ellis Island, Sonia Sotomayor, and etc, I found out that non fiction was pretty interesting. I didn't know that Ellis Island was used in WWll to detain enemies. When I start 5th grade in September, I could keep on figuring out what does the character mean when they have sarcasm.

I have grown as a reader by getting better in visualization. Also I have got better at interpreting the main idea and how the character is feeling. My favorite reading unit is social issues. I liked this unit since it has emotion. With those emotions it helped me feel like I was in the characters shoes. This helped me be a better reader. Also I like this unit since the book I was reading is very interesting and the author uses a lot of good writing technique, which would help me in my writing. Nowadays you'd see me peeking into the Z bin to choose! (I didn't know at first that the series Wings of Fire was level Z until I read up to the 7th book). I never knew I'd go this far. My favorite unit would have to be the Poetry Unit. It reminded me of 1st grade. We learned a lot about the structure of poems. But my real favorite part about this Unit is the Poetry Cafe. We got to recite poems that we made or by someone. Some reading skills I will use in fifth grade is STEAL, visualization, and much more. I have learned to read the book over to understand it better. My favorite reading unit was historical fiction because I like learning about history and facts. Some skills I would use in fifth grade are finding the theme of the story and to look for sensory details.

I have grown as a reader because in the begining of the school year I remember I was a low reading level and now I have increased my reading level alot and moved alot. Non fiction was my favorite because we get to learn about real things.

This year in forth grade my favorite unit in reading was the social issue unit because I learned problems that effect the world everyday and how to help.

As a reader I have grown by learning new things about books and text structure to moving higher in reading levels. I enjoyed reading in 4th grade this year, usually I am not a fan of reading but the new lessons and crafty activities made it quite interesting for me to grow as a reader. I have found reading as the best year so far of it. Too add on.. Reading in the other years 3rd grade and below were just reading books that were so easy and simple, but this year was different.

My growth as a reader grew from having a lot of tricky words to a small about. My favorite reading unit was book clubs because I really like the books I got put in and I think that it is a good strategy to read in groups. Some strengths that I will bring to with grade is sounding out words and if you don't know what the word means you can read around it.

From the beginning of fourth grade when I had to write a story I would only write one sentence and say I was done but then Mrs Barry said that I have to stretch out my story and make it bigger so i did and I got really good grades and Mrs Barry was happy. My favorite unit in reading this year was historical fiction because we got to do book trailers and we got to make are own story’s and we got to choose what year it was going to be in and mine was when it was the start of the civil war. The strenth and skill I will bring to fifth is braveness, smartness and last of all is creativity

I have grown as a reader in many ways. One way that I grew as a reader is that I moved up reading levels. This shows me that I have been growing as a reader because if I wasn't moving up reading levels I wouldn't be learning/ growing as a reader. My favorite reading unit this year is social issues. This was my favorite unit this year because we got to learn about what actually happened to people back then and now. Some skills that we learned this year that I'm going to take to fifth grade are again and again moments, compare and contrast, problem and solution, and aha moments.

1: in the beginning of the year I wasn’t good at text structure and the only on I knew was problem and soulotion. Also I wouldn’t stop at periods and commas. But now I know all the text structures and know where it’s stop.

This year I improved a lot in reading. One thing I improved at is noticing attributes like Contrast & Contradiction, Again & Again etc. My favorite reading unit that we did this year is realistic fiction/social issues. This was my favorite because I really got to understand what problems people would get stuck in and how they overcame them. One thing that that I want to bring to fifth grade is understanding a book. I want to take this with me because this year I haven't done that good in understanding a book but I can improve on that in 5th grade. I can maybe even improve it during summer vacation.

I have grown and changed as a reader because I went up a few reading levels and I am smarter and able to read harder things now than at the beginning of the school year. My favorite reading unit this year was the social issues because for book clubs, I have a really interesting and suspenseful book. A lot of things that you don't expect to happen, happens. Some skills I would take to fifth grade are being able to understand the story really well while reading fast. Also I would take the skill of being able to find the symbol in a book that has a symbol in it. The final skill I would take with me is being able to find the lesson/theme.

1. I remember that I didn't know how to spell a curtain word in the beginning of the year. Then I did a little research and got the answer. Also, in the beginning I didn't like to read so I didn't read a lot. Now, I LOVE to read and it helped me on my skills on reading.
